  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Dispatches service units and relays information to servicemen and construction crews as necessary to handle service problems through use of outage information system.
    2. Monitors all incoming communications from personnel in the field and answers telephone as necessary.
    3. Maintains logs on radio communications according to FCC regulations.
    4. Posts, prints, and distributes service job order forms on PC and main computer.
    5. Receives all reports of outages and restoration of member's service.
    6. Verifies the system and geographic information on all connects and reconnects.
    7. Keeps records of distribution equipment through use of main frame computer and PC.
    8. Relays emergency, fire, hospital, and ambulance calls.
    9. Works major outages as needed.
    10. Performs other duties as assigned or as required by the position.
  2. GRADE: 6 (Overtime after working 40 hours a week)

  1. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   2. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of two way radio communications and telephone switchboard operations highly desirable. PC experience required. Must work well with and have good rapport with employees, membership, and public in general. Knowledge of electrical service and RCEC service territory desirable.
  3. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on the telephone and RCEC radio.
  4. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  5. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  6. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
    2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  7. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
    2. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  8. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to handle stress related to outages, telephone calls, and radio dispatching workers in the field. Ability to perform duties at night time or after dark.


A pre-employment urinalysis drug screen must be passed to be eligible for hire. If offered a job, consent to permit the Cooperative's designated medical doctor to perform a physical examination as prescribed by the Cooperative.
