At Kaiser Permanente, we’re on the lookout for a Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to become a vital part of our dynamic team within the ILWU. In this exciting role, you will perform essential ultrasound and biopsy procedures under physician supervision, ensuring exceptional patient care and precise imaging!
Your Mission:
As a Senior Sonographer, you will conduct diagnostic, therapeutic, and biopsy ultrasound procedures with both direct and indirect supervision. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing patient outcomes and contributing to our team's success!
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Performing Ultrasound Procedures: Execute ultrasound studies and biopsy procedures, ensuring accurate patient positioning and providing necessary immobilization.
- Patient Safety: Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, maintaining patient confidentiality and proper documentation throughout the process.
- Equipment Management: Stay proficient with all department equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate appropriate diagnostic studies, enhancing overall patient care.
- Mentorship: Train and orient new staff, guiding them through subsection operations and helping them feel confident in their roles.
What We’re Looking For:Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate sonography experience, including specialized training.
- Education: Completion of an approved ultrasound training program recognized by CAAHEP or one (1) year of directly related experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in general, breast, vascular, and obstetrics imaging.
- Certifications in Abdomen, Breast, Vascular, and Obstetrics imaging by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- An Associate's degree.
