Position Summary:
The Head Bank Teller is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the teller line, ensuring efficient, accurate, and friendly customer service. This role involves performing teller duties, managing teller schedules, training new tellers, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support teller staff in daily operations.
- Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Perform regular teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
- Monitor teller cash levels and perform end-of-day balancing and reconciliation.
- Provide guidance and coaching to teller team to enhance performance and customer service.
- Train and onboard new tellers.
- Resolve customer issues and escalate complex problems to the appropriate Manager.
- Maintain audit readiness and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist in identifying customer needs and making referrals to appropriate departments.
- Prepare reports and assist with monthly audits or reviews.
- Responsible for ordering cash shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of teller or banking experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- 3+ years experience with opening deposit accounts.
- Strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of banking regulations, operations, and cash handling procedures.
- Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Extended periods of standing at the teller window.
- Professional attire required.
- The typical working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm (closing shift), Monday through Friday.
