Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Ames, IA is seeking a certified and licensed School Psychologist to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels on a contract basis. This role involves providing psychological services that promote student well-being, learning, and development within a collaborative educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students to identify learning needs and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services as needed
- Assist in developing positive behavioral supports and school-wide mental health initiatives
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to data-driven decision making
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification and licensure in the state
- Experience working with elementary, middle, and high school populations
- Strong skills in psychological testing, assessment, and report writing
- Knowledge of current educational laws, special education processes, and mental health practices in schools
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
