Job Title: Quality Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming and in-process products through rigorous acceptance testing. The technician will monitor instruments and processes used in test procedures, compile and review test data, and keep the quality manager and production team updated with any quality issues. The role also involves participation in audits, and the completion of non-conforming material reports and investigations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality acceptance testing on incoming and in-process products.
- Monitor and maintain instruments and processes during test procedures.
- Compile and review test results, updating the quality manager and production team on any issues.
- Participate in audits and investigations related to non-conforming materials.
- Test raw materials and mixes by collecting samples from the production area.
- Perform various tests including tensile, acetone, humidity, freezer, sieve, hardness, dimensional inspections, and more.
Essential Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in lab and quality testing.
- Proficient in conducting tensile testing, raw material testing, dimensional inspections, hardness testing, pH, viscosity, humidity, and sieve testing.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a lab environment.
Work Environment
The position is for the 2nd shift, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime. The technician will work independently in the Quality lab and will need to collect samples from the production area. Initial training will take place during the 1st shift for a few weeks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chicago, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
