Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, detail‐oriented Vision Therapy Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will work directly with patients of all ages to support their individualized vision therapy programs. You’ll guide patients through therapeutic activities, track their progress, and help create a positive, encouraging environment that promotes confidence and success. All vision therapists go through a paid, 6-month training program as a therapist assistant while they get comfortable with concepts and procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and is excited to make a meaningful impact on patients’ visual development and daily functioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the doctor in delivering one‐on‐one, in‐office vision therapy sessions
  • Teach and supervise therapeutic activities designed to improve visual skills such as tracking, focusing, eye teaming, and visual processing
  • Provide clear instructions, encouragement, and feedback to patients throughout their sessions
  • Document patient performance, progress, and observations accurately and promptly
  • Prepare therapy materials, equipment, and treatment spaces before each session
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming therapy environment
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, and team members
  • Support administrative tasks related to scheduling, patient flow, and record‐keeping as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, kinesiology, or a related field preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and apply therapy procedures with consistency and accuracy
  • Comfortable working with children, teens, and adults
  • Patient, positive, and adaptable in a fast‐paced clinical setting
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Prior experience in education, coaching, occupational therapy, or similar fields is a plus (but not required)
  • Willingness to complete vision therapy training and ongoing professional development

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • Enjoys teaching, coaching, or mentoring
  • Brings enthusiasm and empathy to patient interactions
  • Learns new concepts quickly and applies them confidently
  • Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Approaches challenges with creativity and problem‐solving

Why Join Us

  • Meaningful work that changes lives
  • Supportive, team‐oriented environment
  • Hands‐on training and opportunities for growth
  • A role that blends healthcare, education, and fun patient interaction

Company DescriptionWe are a Christ-centered, optometric vision therapy practice and we are looking to train smart, compassionate, and self-motivated individuals to join our team of vision therapists. Vision therapy is like “physical therapy for the eyes and brain.” We work one-on-one with children and adults who have trouble reading, writing, working, playing sports, or performing academically due to poor visual skills. Our graduates focus longer, get better grades, enjoy reading more, and see more clearly and comfortably than they did before therapy.
If you are a positive person who is looking for a long-term position in an encouraging environment that makes a long-term difference in peoples’ lives, this is the career for you!
