About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of accounting operations. This position is responsible for overseeing general accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing a high-performing accounting team while ensuring compliance with established accounting principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, billing, payroll, payables, receivables, and cash flow management.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners.
- Guide and develop the accounting team to support ongoing growth and efficiency.
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, systems, and policies.
- Support cross-functional initiatives, mergers, or systems integrations when needed.
- Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.

- Act as a strategic partner across departments to provide financial insights and guidance.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles
- Experience in Public Accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting operations.
- Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA preferred.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with FinancialForce/Certinia or similar ERP/accounting software.
- Familiarity with payroll and HR platforms such as UKG Ready.
- Ability to extract and manipulate large datasets using Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements).
- Experience supporting M&A activity
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This role may be performed remotely or on-site, depending on business needs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 15 lbs.
