About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of accounting operations. This position is responsible for overseeing general accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing a high-performing accounting team while ensuring compliance with established accounting principles and best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, billing, payroll, payables, receivables, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners.
  • Guide and develop the accounting team to support ongoing growth and efficiency.
  • Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, systems, and policies.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, mergers, or systems integrations when needed.
  • Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members.

  • Act as a strategic partner across departments to provide financial insights and guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience in Public Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting operations.
  • Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • CPA preferred.


Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Experience with FinancialForce/Certinia or similar ERP/accounting software.
  • Familiarity with payroll and HR platforms such as UKG Ready.
  • Ability to extract and manipulate large datasets using Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements).
  • Experience supporting M&A activity


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This role may be performed remotely or on-site, depending on business needs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 15 lbs.
