Position: Media Buyer

Summary: The Media Buyer is charged with the role of buying and the execution of all areas of media. The position requires speaking directly with vendors. The Media Buyer’s mission is to find a combination of media that will enable the client to communicate the message in the most effective manner possible at the minimum cost.

A&K Marketing is an advertising agency specializes in strategic planning and buying across all forms of media, including traditional media – radio, TV, print and outdoor; and new media – digital online display, social, video and much more. A&K’s broad client roster represents companies with local, regional and national needs. We provide them with smart, cost-efficient campaign strategies that target their audience and achieve their goals, whether it be a one-market buy, a national campaign or anything in between.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in client strategy and media planning meetings
  • Building relationships with and media vendors
  • Determining optimum use of budgeted funds to achieve marketing objectives
  • Effectively negotiating rates to optimize client’s media budgets
  • Conferring with media reps and researching media vehicles for possible placement and identifying or creating value added packages to improve client’s plans.
  • Ensure that (schedules) run accurately
  • Client reporting and budget management, including preparing budgets for clients and producing spending updates throughout the campaigns.
  • Posting of key buys and measuring/ evaluating of campaign results
  • Managing and tracking schedules adjustments due to pre-emptions.
  • Order entry and distribution of orders and traffic
  • Support other colleagues as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Media Buyer or similar role; experience in digital media is also required (Minimum 3 Years of Media Buying Experience)
  • Familiarity with media-buying, planning and research
  • Interest in following advertising and media trends
  • Working knowledge of media analytics software (e.g. comScore, Nielsen, & etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Ad Agency Software (e.g. Advantage by Simpli.fi, Strata, & etc.)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
