Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Headrig Sawyer Operator for a reputable lumber company in the Yuba/Sutter area. The Headrig Sawyer's primary responsibility is to operate the saw that makes the initial cuts on logs at a sawmill, transforming them into cants or boards. They must operate machinery, coordinate log flow, perform quality checks, and maintain equipment, all while adhering to safety regulations.

**Headrig Sawyer Operator job duties: **

• **Saw Operation: **Operates the headrig saw to cut logs into specified dimensions, focusing on both quality and efficiency.
• **Maintenance and Troubleshooting: **Conducts regular maintenance and troubleshooting of the saw to minimize downtime.
• **Log Handling: **Loads logs onto the carriage, operates the log turner, and coordinates the conveyor system.
• **Production Coordination: **Collaborates with other production team members to coordinate log flow and meet daily production targets.
• **Quality Control: **Performs quality checks on cut lumber to ensure it meets specified standards.
• **Safety: **Maintains a clean and safe work environment and adheres to all safety regulations.
• **Equipment Adjustment: **Adjusts saw settings to optimize cutting performance.

Compensation: $20-$24/hour DOE
