About the Role
Oxford Solutions is working with a client looking to hire a Medical Receptionist / Prior Authorization Specialist to join their growing pharmacy support team. In this role, you will help patients get access to affordable medications by processing prior authorizations and insurance verifications quickly and accurately. You will work closely with medical offices, prescribers, and patients to ensure timely approvals and provide exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Start new prior authorization requests with providers
- Identify the correct prior authorization forms for each insurance provider
- Coordinate with prescribers to complete and submit forms
- Follow up with medical offices to track request status
- Communicate updates to patients and providers
- Manage appeal processes when needed
- Answer internal questions about prior authorizations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1+ year of prior authorization or insurance verification experience in a pharmacy setting
- Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and pharmacy claims
- Customer service or inbound call center experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using computer systems and technical tools
- Must be flexible to work rotating shifts
