For over 15 years, we have been recognized for the quality of our products and services among professionals in various industries, including manufacturing, laboratory, education, aerospace, defense, and jewelry industries. Position Summary: The Technical Salesperson will be responsible for learning our existing line of microscopes and accessories for the purposes of making knowledgeable recommendations as well as providing technical support. It will also be important to learn the needs of a variety of industries and specific applications so that accurate recommendations can be made.
Most work days will be based in our Torrance office, but there will also be travel throughout the US to represent the company and demonstrate our products at trade shows and other events.
Responsibilities:
● Respond to incoming customer communications
○ Live chats
○ Phone calls
○ Support tickets
● Present scheduled online demos
● Test sample items sent in by customers and provide results
● Test returned units for warranty claims and repairs
● Test new hardware and software products for familiarity and provide feedback
● Travel to tradeshows and other events, usually in convention centers or hotel halls
● Set up booth/display, maintaining an organized and professional appearance
● Demonstrate products and answer questions including some highly technical question
● Disassemble booth/display, pack, and prepare items for shipment
● Return sales and sales lead information
● Provide trade show feedback to guide our future decisions and improve performance
Qualifications
● Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university preferred
● Knowledgeable about computer hardware and software
● Positive, personal, and friendly attitude
● Able to understand and explain highly technical products
● Comfortable speaking in public and/or in front of an audience
● Not intimidated when speaking with industry professionals or those with more knowledge in a particular area than you
● Able to travel throughout the US on a regular basis (and ideally enjoys traveling)
● Reliable with managing and keeping a busy travel schedule
● Able to take initiative and deliver results
● Entry level okay, training is provided
