Our client, a premier national financial services institution renowned for its mission-driven culture and commitment to excellence, is seeking a high-caliber Principal Credit Risk Analyst Lead to join their Retail Banking division.

This is a senior-level strategic role designed for a "thought leader" who can navigate ambiguous risk landscapes. You will be responsible for translating macroeconomic signals, policy shifts, and industry trends into actionable credit strategies that protect the bank’s portfolio while driving performance.

  • The Impact You Will Make:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute advanced credit risk strategies, providing expert recommendations to senior executives to influence long-term business decisions.
  • Advanced Analytics: Use SQL, SAS, and emerging AI/LLM tools to extract insights from complex datasets, identifying non-traditional risks and first-party fraud patterns.
  • Risk Oversight: Design sophisticated financial sensitivity analyses and manage comprehensive risk reporting frameworks to ensure compliance with federal regulations (including Reg B, FCRA, and OCC standards).
  • Innovation: Take ownership of "white space" challenges—identifying risk drivers like inflationary pressures or federal policy changes where no historical blueprint exists.
  • Mentorship: Act as a technical beacon for the analyst community, coaching junior team members in quantitative modeling and risk management best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in credit risk, advanced analytics, or financial risk assessment (6 years required if holding a Master’s degree in a quantitative field like Economics, Finance, or Engineering).
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in SQL and SAS for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of banking mandates (UDAAP, OCC Heightened Standards, etc.).
  • Communication: Proven ability to simplify complex quantitative findings for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Bonus Points: Demonstrated experience using AI/Copilot tools to optimize coding workflows or develop automated risk agents.

Why Join This Organization?

  • This firm is distinguished by its unwavering values and world-class benefits package. Beyond a highly competitive salary, successful candidates will enjoy:
  • A formal Pension Plan in addition to a 401(k) match.
  • Extensive parental leave and adoption assistance.
  • A collaborative, mission-focused environment that prioritizes the financial security of its members.
  • Dedicated time for professional development and volunteerism.

Please Note: Our client is unable to provide visa sponsorship (H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.) at this time or in the future.
