Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Inspire and support young learners as a Special Education Teacher for an Extended School Year (ESY) program in a welcoming elementary setting. This part-time, contract-based opportunity puts you at the heart of making a meaningful difference each day. You’ll work with a close-knit group of five students, providing personalized instruction and guidance in an encouraging, supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credentials, with appropriate state licensure
- Previous experience with elementary-age students preferred
- Passion for fostering growth and independence in students with diverse needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability and a nurturing, patient approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and goals
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment during the ESY session
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and families to track and support student progress
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to reach learners with varying needs
- Document ongoing performance and provide clear, constructive feedback
