Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography imaging according to protocol, including patient positioning, compression, and image quality assessment.
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment; conduct routine quality control and ensure adherence to radiation safety standards.
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, obtain informed consent when appropriate, and monitor patient comfort during the exam.
- Prepare images for radiologist interpretation, document findings, and communicate urgent or atypical results to the radiology team promptly.
- Maintain ALARA radiation safety practices, infection control, patient privacy, and accurate charting within the medical record.
- Collaborate with the radiology physician and hospice care team to coordinate scheduling and ensure smooth patient throughput in a home-based setting.
Requirements
- Mammography license required (California)
- 2+ years of radiology/mammography experience
- Ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting
- Willingness to travel to patient locations as part of a travel assignment
