Job Title: Forklift Operators
Type of Role: Temp to Hire
Shift / Hours: Mon - Thru (7am - 5:30pm) Fri (7am - 3:30pm)
(work every other Saturday depending on production)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Hourly Range: $20
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This position is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, unload, pick, and store materials throughout the warehouse. Materials may range from small parts to medium-sized steel beams and fabricated components. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment alongside welders and fabricators. This position also offers opportunities for career advancement, including training into a welding role based on attendance, performance, and work ethic.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials for production and shipping.
- Pick and organize materials according to work orders and production schedules.
- Handle materials ranging from small parts to medium-sized steel beams and fabricated components.
- Supply welders and fabricators with the materials needed to complete production.
- Maintain organized inventory and storage locations within the warehouse.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines while operating equipment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties including material handling, staging, cleaning, and inventory organization.
- Work safely around welding operations, fabrication equipment, and moving machinery.
- Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and production personnel to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of recent forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience moving various types of materials, including oversized or irregular loads, preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts while maintaining awareness of surrounding personnel and equipment.
- Comfortable working in a hot warehouse environment for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely around welders, fabricators, and heavy industrial equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
