The Drum Filler is responsible for filling returnable drums according to customer and company specifications. This role involves ensuring the integrity of the drums and maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
- Inspect returnable drums for damage before filling; report any damage to supervisory staff.
- Fill drums in compliance with MS 8.5/3-82 standards.
- Optimize processes to enhance product quality and output.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area and equipment.
- Ensure all safety apparatus are properly in place.
- Perform real-time reporting in SAP and complete daily production reports.
- Notify supervisors of any safety or maintenance issues.
- Verify magna press seal integrity and air valve functionality.
- Perform cartridge filling duties as required.
- Remove plates from expired drums.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, compounding, chemical handling, machine operation, and general labor.
- Experience in production, batch production, and documentation.
- Proficiency in forklift operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in environments with strong odors.
- Capability to pass skills key test, audiogram test, and essential functions test.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in industrial cleaning or housekeeping is advantageous.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.

Work Environment
The role is based in a chemical plant primarily focused on automotive material production. The climate-controlled work environment entails exposure to manufacturing operations, including moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Team members work shifts with potential overtime on weekends as needed. PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, and gloves are provided to ensure safety.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.50/hr.
