Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized nursing care as a Registered Nurse in a step-down unit, delivering exceptional patient care under the guidance of your Unit Director and Clinical Leader. This contract role requires a focus on telemetry patients and a commitment to teamwork, clear communication, and multi-tasking within a supportive clinical environment.

Location: Brewer, ME a charming city known for its scenic riverfront parks, historic sites, and friendly community atmosphere. Enjoy a peaceful setting with convenient access to outdoor activities, local dining, and cultural events, all while serving patients in a vital healthcare role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer patient care according to state nursing board regulations and hospital protocols
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse to ensure safe and effective shift operations
  • Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to patient needs and changes
  • Maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in ongoing training and uphold hospital mission and values of compassion, integrity, collaboration, and excellence

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Maine RN license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Telemetry experience highly preferred
  • MOAB or CPI certifications are a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability to accommodate staffing needs

Additional Details:

  • Contract position with the possibility of shift cancellations up to three shifts over a 13-week period
  • Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility will receive a lower local pay rate
  • Up to 16 hours of unpaid orientation
