About the Role
As a GIS Product Owner, you will own the roadmap for GIS solutions, working across engineering, operations, analytics, and field teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Esri’s ArcGIS platform and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like React and Calcite.
WKey Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own and prioritize the GIS product roadmap and backlog
- Translate business needs into actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cycles in Agile environments
- Define and track KPIs for product adoption and business impact
Technical Partnership
- Collaborate with developers building GIS apps using ArcGIS JavaScript API (4.x), React, and Calcite Design System
- Partner on API integrations, architecture discussions, and design reviews
- Support integrations with Esri tools like Experience Builder, Web AppBuilder, and ArcGIS Pro
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead workshops, user interviews, and feedback sessions
- Serve as the bridge between business goals and geospatial technical delivery
- Create clear documentation, release notes, and user training materials
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a Product Owner, GIS Business Analyst, or GIS Lead role
- Deep proficiency in Esri’s ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)
- Experience with ArcGIS JavaScript API (4.x) and Esri web development frameworks
- Working knowledge of React, Vite, and modern web app architecture
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
•Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Calcite Design System, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Web AppBuilder
- Familiarity with spatial databases (PostGIS, Snowflake, SQL Server Spatial)
- Exposure to Python scripting, ArcPy, or ArcGIS Python API
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification
