Pediatric Dentist
Location-West Hawaii (Kealakehe and Kealakekua)
Pay Rate-$190,000-$257,058 (Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience)
About the Role:
Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Pediatric Dentist provides comprehensive dental care in alignment with HICHC’s mission, including diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients, supervision of dental hygienists, participation in staff education, public service engagement, and administrative responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required-Valid current license to practice dentistry in the State of Hawaii.
- Required-Must have a desire to work with children and adolescents
- Preferred-Experience working with community programs
Responsibilities:
- Provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative dental services to patients.
- Reviews medical histories are reviewed at every visit.
- Examines teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose disease or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.
- Assures all pathologic conditions are charted and reported to the patient.
- Discusses caries risk assessment, diet, home care status and anticipatory guidance with patients and parent who demonstrate moderate and high caries risk.
- Develops a written treatment plan developed with all options explained to the patient.
Skills:
Demonstrates working knowledge of diagnosing and treating dental and oral diseases, standard dental practices and techniques, and preventive dentistry principles. Possesses strong clinical skills in oral operative techniques and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with patients and staff.
