Job DescriptionSalary: $30.00 - $40.00 Hourly

Job Summary
We are a professional and agile team seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based services. The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for a DC SLPA license and have a strong passion for helping children improve their communication skills. This role supports students in developing expressive and receptive language abilities, speech clarity, and overall confidence in verbal and written communication. The Speech Pathologist Assistant will collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and school staff to implement therapy plans that align with each students needs and educational goals.


Duties:

  • Screen and document students general conditions, speech and language abilities, and cognitive communication skills under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  • Follow treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising SLP, providing structured activities and interventions.
  • Assist in preparing therapy materials and maintaining a supportive therapy environment.Perform other functions as permitted within the scope of practice for a licensed SLPA.
  • Communicate with the supervising SLP regarding student progress, challenges, and observations.
  • Accurately and promptly complete session notes and documentation in compliance with school and professional standards.
  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students individually or in small groups, both in-person and via teletherapy.


Skills:

  • Holds or is eligible for a current SLPA license in Washington, DC.
  • Passion for working with children in educational settings.
  • Familiarity with speech-language development and common pediatric communication disorders.
  • Experience with in-person and/or remote therapy service delivery.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills to ensure timely and accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative within a team environment.
  • A compassionate and student-centered approach that prioritizes communication growth and confidence-building.
