Shamrock Engineering and Automation is hiring an experienced machinist to take full ownership of a dedicated Okuma Vertical Turret Lathe machining thin-walled stainless steel components.
This is a long-term, stable role focused on process ownership and craftsmanship. The right candidate will be responsible for the machine and process from start to finish, supported by in-house engineering for tooling and fixturing.
What You’ll Do

Operate and own a dedicated Okuma VTL producing thin-walled parts

Manage the full process: setup, machining, inspection, maintenance, and tooling

Maintain dimensional control and surface finish on distortion-sensitive parts

Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting

Collaborate with engineering on tooling, fixturing, and process improvements

Drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement over the life of the program
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience machining thin-walled components preferred

Strong understanding of workholding, deflection control, and cutting dynamics

Ability to hold tight tolerances

Comfortable owning a process independently

CNC lathe experience required; Okuma VTL experience preferred
