Shamrock Engineering and Automation is hiring an experienced machinist to take full ownership of a dedicated Okuma Vertical Turret Lathe machining thin-walled stainless steel components.

This is a long-term, stable role focused on process ownership and craftsmanship. The right candidate will be responsible for the machine and process from start to finish, supported by in-house engineering for tooling and fixturing.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and own a dedicated Okuma VTL producing thin-walled parts

• Manage the full process: setup, machining, inspection, maintenance, and tooling

• Maintain dimensional control and surface finish on distortion-sensitive parts

• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting

• Collaborate with engineering on tooling, fixturing, and process improvements

• Drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement over the life of the program

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience machining thin-walled components preferred

• Strong understanding of workholding, deflection control, and cutting dynamics

• Ability to hold tight tolerances

• Comfortable owning a process independently

• CNC lathe experience required; Okuma VTL experience preferred
