Position Overview
GTI Energy is seeking a Director of Global Regulatory Compliance to lead enterprise-wide compliance strategy across products, manufacturing operations, suppliers, and international business activities. This role is responsible for ensuring GTI operates in accordance with applicable domestic and global regulatory requirements while building scalable compliance systems that support rapid growth.

The Director of Global Regulatory Compliance will partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Finance, and Executive Leadership to manage regulatory risk, oversee audits, support certifications, and ensure products and business practices meet legal and industry requirements. This role requires a strategic leader with strong operational discipline who can translate regulations into executable business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Global Compliance Strategy & Governance
• Develop and lead GTI’s global regulatory compliance strategy across products, operations, suppliers, and corporate functions
• Establish enterprise compliance frameworks, governance models, policies, and internal controls
• Ensure regulatory readiness as GTI expands into new products, markets, customers, and geographies
• Provide executive leadership with visibility into compliance risks, priorities, and mitigation plans

Product & Manufacturing Regulatory Compliance
• Oversee compliance requirements related to manufactured products including electrical, mechanical, environmental, and safety regulations
• Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure products meet applicable codes, standards, and certification requirements
• Support compliance related to UL, CSA, CE, NEC, NFPA, ISO9001, OSHA, and customer-specific requirements where applicable
• Ensure manufacturing operations maintain required records, traceability, and process discipline

Trade, Import / Export & International Compliance
• Lead compliance related to international trade, import/export controls, customs requirements, sanctions screening, and restricted party regulations
• Support global sourcing and international operations involving Mexico, Vietnam, and other strategic regions
• Partner with Supply Chain and Legal teams on country-specific regulatory obligations
• Ensure documentation and controls support lawful global movement of goods and materials

Supplier Compliance & Risk Management
• Establish supplier compliance standards related to quality, labor, environmental, ethical sourcing, and regulatory obligations
• Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate supplier compliance readiness and risk exposure
• Support supplier audits, corrective actions, and onboarding governance processes
• Ensure vendor compliance with GTI standards and customer requirements

Audit, Investigation & Corrective Action Leadership
• Lead internal and external compliance audits across facilities, suppliers, and corporate functions
• Manage responses to regulatory inquiries, findings, or customer compliance requests
• Drive corrective and preventive actions using Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and structured problem solving methodologies
• Track closure of findings and sustainment of corrective actions

Policies, Training & Culture
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, code of conduct standards, and governance documentation
• Deliver training programs to employees, managers, and leadership on compliance obligations and ethical business practices
• Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management
• Serve as a trusted advisor on compliance-related decision making

Cross-Functional Business Partnership
• Partner with Engineering on product certifications and technical standards
• Work with HR on employment compliance, investigations, and policy administration
• Support Finance with internal controls, documentation, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Coordinate with Operations on site-level compliance execution and readiness

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Develop compliance dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting tools
• Track audit performance, training completion, open findings, certifications, and risk indicators
• Continuously improve compliance systems to support growth without excessive bureaucracy
• Benchmark GTI practices against industry best practices and evolving regulations

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, Finance, or related discipline
• 10–15+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance, quality systems, audit, risk management, or related leadership roles
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or multi-site operational environments
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ISO9001, OSHA, UL, trade compliance, or related industrial requirements
• Proven ability to build enterprise compliance systems in growth-stage organizations
• Strong executive communication, judgment, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree, JD, MBA, or related professional certification preferred
• Experience supporting modular systems, electrical equipment, energy storage, power generation, or data center infrastructure products
• Experience with global sourcing operations in Mexico, Vietnam, or similar manufacturing regions
• Experience leading cross-border compliance programs and supplier governance
• CCEP, CPA, Six Sigma, Internal Audit, or related certifications preferred
