INTRODUCTION
This position guide outlines the basic function, position requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and duties for the Production Technician in Ventex Corporation.
BASIC FUNCTION
The Production Technician is responsible for performing and supporting production builds and testing services, ensuring all repairs are completed promptly while upholding Ventex’s highest quality standards. This role requires daily communication and updates to the Production Lead Technician and Production Department Manager.
The Production Technician provides hands-on production support and develops technical expertise to assist with the assembly, testing, diagnosis, and analysis of products. Supports servicing and maintenance of Canon photolithography lab equipment (steppers and scanners). All activities must align with established operational goals, objectives, policies, and training procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Required: High School Diploma with advanced electronics trade school experience, plus four (4) years of actual working experience in a production environment.
Preferred: Associate's degree in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering. Six (6) years of
post-related work experience in assembly, test, and quality control in a production environment.
Licenses/Certifications:
· Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
Experience:
· 4 – 6 years of assembly, test, and quality control experience
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
· Skilled in the use of a PC along with Microsoft Office applications.
· Ability to lead the coordination effort of equipment installations and repair projects.
· Must have the knowledge to identify and prioritize operational, personnel problem areas, and the ability to solve problems and execute policies and procedures.
· Must be skilled in the use of hand tools, electronic tools, gauges, and equipment.
Mental:
· Basic statistical and analytical business math skills, as well as good reading, writing, and spelling ability to communicate clearly and effectively on all technical and business levels.
· This position must also have a strong ability to comprehend engineering drawings and specs.
Working Conditions:
· Assembly will be done in a controlled environment
· This position requires testing product functionality on photolithography semiconductor equipment in a lab environment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The production technician is hired by and reports to the Production Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- To provide technical service in the assembly and test of remanufactured or refurbished products.
- Ability to read drawings and follow step-by-step instructions. Ability to read schematic drawings.
- Provide accurate and detailed daily pass-downs.
- To ensure that production tooling and testing equipment are maintained in good operational and accurate condition.
- Responsible for quality in all finished products. Ensuring they meet set specifications.
- Responsible for maintaining and supporting lab equipment functionality.
- To meet or exceed all project/service budget and profit objectives.
- Develop and/or implement production procedures.
- Maintain awareness of all technical-related trends, advances, and improvements, and identify activities that could impact the Production Department.
- Continually strive to maintain state-of-the-art technical knowledge of the business and semiconductor industry.
- Always maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with fellow employees, even in stressful situations.
- Continually solve problems as they arise. Function as a troubleshooter, resolving all potential issues before they can hurt the Company’s operational efficiency and reputation.
- Consult with fellow production team members and use proper judgment when replacing parts.
- Meet with fellow employees as needed to address questions, discuss proposed/actual schedules, and provide daily updates with written pass-downs.
- Be alert to cost-effective or time-saving opportunities that can benefit the company.
