Job Description
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for meeting business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. This role involves counseling and supporting hourly employees, addressing performance behaviors, and applying problem-solving processes to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Meet business objectives for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.
- Address performance behaviors, commend positives, and discipline negatives.
- Engage workforce for ideas using the Quality Network problem-solving process.
- Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) to improve layouts and efficiency.
- Update the Timekeeping System (TKS) daily to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Use A-3 reporting format for documenting problem-solving activities.
- Conduct daily huddle-up meetings for business performance discussions.
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours.
- Plan daily workload in advance and support colleagues to optimize shift performance.
- Observe contractual requirements and enforce shop rules.
- Perform daily SOP audit checks.
- Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
- Keep the General Shop Committee informed of pending activities.
Essential Skills
- Supervisory and management skills.
- Experience in warehouse inventory and logistics.
- Forklift operation.
- Direct supervision of union employees.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and perform progressive discipline.
- Experience in a union environment.
- Experience in shipping and receiving.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Warehouse experience: 2-5 years.
- Supervision of 15+ UAW employees.
- Experience with scan gun systems and WMS.
- Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and performance maintenance under challenges.
- Direct supervision/management experience in a union environment.
- Experience leading process improvements or special projects.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule with flexibility to work any shift. Expect overtime averaging 10 hours weekly. The dress code is business casual, and PPE is required on the plant floor. The facility is expansive, with operations across multiple shifts, handling shipping of GM Factory OEM parts.

This is a Contract position based out of Pontiac, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
