Job Title: Research Support Assistant

Grade: 9

Salary: $19.96- $23.76

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a hourly part-time Research Support Assistant position at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The Research Support Assistant II will conduct experiments aimed at understanding the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders using mouse models.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of electrophysiological datasets including single unit activity and local field potentials.
  • Application of machine learning methods to decode how neuronal activity supports cognitive behavior.
  • Acquire, process, and perform quantification of images obtained by microscopy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • S. in Neuroscience & Education
  • Minor in Data Science with the concentration of Artificial Intelligence
  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Matlab is preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
