Reports to: Design DirectorAbout the RoleA fast-growing contemporary fashion brand is seeking a Senior Fashion Designer to play a pivotal role in its dynamic design team. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the development of innovative seasonal collections, support cross-functional collaboration, and influence the future direction of the brand’s product vision. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a creative and entrepreneurial environment.Key Responsibilities
- Seasonal Collection Development:
Collaborate closely with the Creative and Design Directors to design 12 annual product drops across four seasonal collections that are trend-forward, balanced, and aligned with brand aesthetics. - Trend Research & Product Ideation:
Conduct seasonal trend research through market analysis, curated inspiration, and customer insights to develop original concepts that align with line plans and product strategy. - Textile & Print Collaboration:
Work with internal and freelance textile designers to develop compelling print assortments and seasonal color palettes that resonate with the brand's customer. - Sketching & Development:
Translate design concepts through sketching, draping, and tech pack creation. Lead development sketch reviews and oversee product evolution from ideation through final production. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with product development and production teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to delivery. Attend fittings, manage fabric and trim approvals, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues. - Process & Vendor Engagement:
Engage directly with vendors to communicate design vision, resolve issues, and ensure quality. Attend sourcing meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvement. - Creative Innovation:
Bring forward fresh, innovative ideas beyond current assortments to support long-term product evolution and business growth.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a designer role within the Ready-to-Wear or contemporary market
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field (BFA or BA)
- Strong hand and digital sketching skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop
- Deep knowledge of RTW product categories including wovens, knits, outerwear, and novelty
- Exceptional sense of color, trend, and fashion styling
- Keen attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to balance creative design with business goals and brand DNA
- Experience with PLM systems and technical pack development is a plus
