Clear-to-Build (CTB) Production Scheduler
Job Description
Job Description
Company Overview
RPI (FGC Manufacturing LLC) is a premier, fast-paced contract manufacturer specializing in high-quality wire harnesses, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and custom testing equipment. We pride ourselves on operational excellence, engineering precision, and a collaborative shop-floor culture. As we continue to scale, we are investing heavily in our operational structure to ensure our production team is set up for flawless execution.
Position Summary
The Clear-to-Build (CTB) Production Scheduler is the critical gatekeeper between our Engineering/Purchasing departments and the Manufacturing floor. Your primary mission is to ensure that no job is released to production until it is 100% "Clear to Build"— meaning all materials are physically present, capacity is available, and engineering documentation/data is verified and production-ready.
Rather than reacting to problems mid-production, you will proactively identify and resolve material shortages and data gaps upfront, protecting shop floor efficiency and ensuring RPI consistently hits its customer deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- The CTB Gatekeeper: Own and manage the Clear-to-Build verification process. Audit incoming job packages across three strict pillars before scheduling: Material Availability, Production Capacity, and Documentation Readiness.
- Engineering Data Validation: Review bill of materials (BOMs), travelers, and work instructions coming from Engineering. Act as the first line of defense to catch missing specifications, data errors, or unreleased drawings before they hit the floor.
- Cross-Functional Triage: Partner directly with our purchasing team on material ETA tracking and collaborate with Engineering to rapidly fix any documentation bugs flagged during the CTB audit.
- Production Scheduling: Build and maintain the master weekly production schedule. Coordinate daily with the Production Manager to release fully verified, "clean" job packages that the assembly team can execute without interruption.
- Ecosystem Maintenance: Ensure our ERP system accurately reflects job statuses, lead times, and staging locations so the entire company has real-time visibility into production readiness.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing management experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing (PCBs, wire harnesses, enclosures).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- System Savvy: Direct experience working with manufacturing ERP/MRP scheduling systems, with a proven ability to manage data architecture (routers, inventory allocations, and work orders).
- Documentation Literacy: Strong ability to interpret and audit specialized manufacturing data packages, including assembly drawings, schematic redlines, wire run lists, and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Core Competencies: Strong communication, proactive problem-solving, and a high level of attention to detail to catch data or material gaps before they hit the floor.
- Industry Standards (Preferred): Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or IPC-WHMA-A-620 standards is a plus, ensuring data packages align with electronic assembly quality requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary.
- Full benefits package (including health, dental, vision, and retirement options).
- Dynamic, high-impact leadership role within a talented manufacturing team.
