Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring an active ND or compact RN license and recent med/surg experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a 47-bed Medical Surgical unit within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
- Care for medical, surgical, and surgical oncology patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
- 12-hour day/night rotating shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
- Float to any med/surg unit on any campus as needed
- Unit uses Epic EMR, AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
- Care for medical, surgical, and oncology patients in collaboration with inter-professional teams
- Must adhere to age and population specific standards relevant to the clinical setting
- Training includes one day lead center training and two 12-hour unit shifts with a preceptor
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Travelers cannot reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility, and reduced pay applies for those living 60-80 miles away
- Candidates with prior employment at Sanford Health must have ended their employment at least 6 months prior to consideration

- Active ND or compact RN license is required
- Minimum of 1 year recent medical surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification through AHA is required
- Experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds and Level 2 or higher trauma center required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
