Job DescriptionJob SummaryWe are seeking an energetic Circulators, Preop and PACU RNs for our Multi-specialty ASC located in Tempe, AZ
Circulator:
Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to plan and implement intra-operative nursing care
Conducts pre - and post-operative education
Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team
Monitors patients' vital signs
Prepares, administers and records medications.
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format
Prepares operating room for patients/procedures
Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being
Assists in positioning and transport of patient
Provides accurate care and handling of specimens
Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis
Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery
Select and manage supplies, instruments and equipment used for surgery
Performs other position-related duties during the surgical procedure
Pre-op/PACU:
Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery
Ensure that informed consents are signed and correct
Take and record vital signs of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
Insert IVs and administer appropriate medications
Ensure patients are informed about procedure
Assess patients’ post-operative condition
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format
Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort
Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
Essential Functions:
- Provides care to surgical patients in the OR arena according to policy and procedure and care standards.
- Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery and anticipated complications.
- Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
- Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest.
- Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
- Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; current licensure as RN in state of Arizona.
- BCLS/ACLS certification
- 2 Years OR Experience
- Experience in Pain, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Gastrointestinal, and Vascular required.
