Position Overview:
We are seeking a TIG Welder / Fitter to join our team in Bay Minette, AL. This role focuses on precision welding and fabrication of tip assemblies, burners, and components made from copper, steel, and stainless steel.
This is a great opportunity for a welder who takes pride in high-quality work, blueprint accuracy, and working with dissimilar metals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on tip assemblies, burner lances, and barrel assemblies
- Work with dissimilar metals (copper, steel, stainless steel)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications
- Select proper components and prepare materials (including preheating)
- Perform brazing of tip assemblies
- Weld furnace panel pipe coils
- Operate shop equipment: cranes, forklifts, grinders, and welding tools
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy
- Complete production documentation and time reporting
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of welding/fitting experience (manufacturing or fabrication)
- Proficiency in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Experience with fabrication tools (cutting torches, grinders, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
Preferred:
- Welding certification or technical training
- Experience working with copper or dissimilar metals
Technical Skills:
- TIG, MIG, and/or Stick welding
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- Metal layout and fitting
- Weld inspection and quality control
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in industrial environments
