Are you ready to make a difference in the operating room? We are looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be an essential member of the surgical team, working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide top-notch care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
About Our Department
The Operating Room of Surgery is committed to delivering exceptional intraoperative care to our surgical and procedural sedation patients. We cater to a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Collaborating with various specialties, we ensure our patients receive the best care possible, whether they are going home the same day or being admitted to the hospital.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist in providing high-quality care to patients during surgical procedures.
- Work closely with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient operating room environment.
- Maintain proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments.
- Support the RN in monitoring patient conditions and responding to needs.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification: Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon.
- Experience:
- Option 1: Completion of a surgical technologist training program in the military or Public Health Service.
- Option 2: Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and certification from the NBSTSA.
- Option 3: Two years of surgical technology experience in a hospital or surgical center.
- Skills:
- Time management and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Social perceptiveness to work with a diverse patient population.
- Certifications: Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Preferred: Experience or training in computer applications.
Physical Demands
This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks, including:
- Climbing stairs and walking on inclines.
- Lifting and carrying weights ranging from 20 to 60 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods and performing manual dexterity tasks.
