This Travel Night Pharmacy Technician position offers an engaging role within a healthcare facility operating 173 licensed beds with an average daily census of 140 patients. The schedule is a consistent 5 on, 5 off pattern, working 10-hour night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The assignment duration ranges from 8 to 13 weeks, making it ideal for professionals seeking temporary opportunities with the flexibility to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and make intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
- Accurately fill automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis)
- Respond to telephone inquiries efficiently
- Deliver medications to nursing units in a timely manner
- Utilize hospital order entry systems, specifically Allscripts/Paragon for medication management and documentation
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous inpatient pharmacy technician experience is essential
- Proven skills in preparing IV medications and working with Pyxis automated dispensing systems
- Competency in using electronic order entry systems, preferably Allscripts or Paragon
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts
