Host – Delbar Buckhead, GA

Position Summary:
The Host is the first point of contact for all guests and plays a key role in creating a warm and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for managing both reservations and walk-in traffic to optimize seating efficiency while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Success in this role requires grace under pressure, strong communication skills, and a deep commitment to hospitality.

Pay Range:
$16–$20 per hour, based on experience and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Interaction

  • Greet every guest with warmth, enthusiasm, and professionalism.

  • Anticipate and accommodate guest needs, including special requests and celebrations.

  • Uphold Delbar’s hospitality standards at all times.

Reservation & Seating Management

  • Maintain and manage the reservation system to maximize table turns and guest flow.

  • Welcome walk-in guests and manage waitlists with clear, accurate wait time communication.

  • Make strategic seating decisions to support service flow and enhance guest experience.

Operational Duties

  • Ensure the host stand and entrance area are clean, organized, and fully stocked with current menus and tools.

  • Perform assigned opening and closing duties as part of the daily shift.

  • Keep menus tidy and presentable and report any maintenance or equipment issues to management promptly.

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings to stay informed on specials, events, and service updates.

  • Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest service.

  • Support team members throughout the shift as needed to foster a collaborative and efficient environment.

Compliance & Standards

  • Follow all cleanliness and sanitation guidelines per Department of Health requirements.

  • Adhere to Delbar’s appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Represent Delbar with a positive, professional attitude and a guest-first mindset.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant required.

  • Experience with Resy or Opentable

  • Maitre d’ experience is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain composed under pressure.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the duration of the shift.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks as needed.

  • Comfortable working near hot surfaces and cleaning materials.

  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and mandatory holidays.
