Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to support a heavy industrial manufacturing facility. This role focuses on the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of precision parts, tooling, jigs, and dies used in plant equipment.
This is a hands-on position operating manual machine tools (not CNC) and is ideal for machinists who take pride in precision work and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses

Fabricate and repair precision parts, tooling, fixtures, and plant components

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics

Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges

Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machine shop equipment

Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed

Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
-
3–5 years of manual machining experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments

Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques (non-CNC)

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints

Proficiency with precision measurement tools

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Preferred Experience

Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial plant environments

Tooling, jig, and die repair experience

Welding or fabrication skills

Experience supporting plant maintenance operations
