This contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher is designed for educators passionate about fostering growth in learners with diverse needs. You'll join a collaborative team and support students at Monroe Elementary, where programs like Project Lead the Way Launch create an engaging environment to explore STEM concepts through hands-on experience.
As an Elementary Resource Special Education Teacher, you'll help transform learning for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, using your expertise to meet each child where they are while collaborating closely with fellow educators and support staff.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Minnesota Teaching Certification required (must attach to your application)
- Tier 3 or 4 certification is mandatory for consideration
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience supporting elementary learners in resource or inclusion settings
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and differentiating instruction
- Thorough understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and special education compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs for assigned students
- Adapt lessons and materials to promote access to the general curriculum
- Support academic, social, and behavioral growth in collaborative consultation with teachers and families
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates to all stakeholders
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
