Our organization is looking for a Medical Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology to lead Ambulatory Services at our hospital!
Established in 1852, our hospital is a prominent 1,134-bed tertiary-care teaching facility recognized globally for its outstanding clinical services. According to the U.S. News & World Report ‘Best Hospitals’ rankings, we have received top honors and are nationally recognized in 11 specialties. Our institution consistently achieves Magnet status for nursing excellence and is the only medical center in New York State to hold the Disease-Specific Care Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission. Additionally, we were honored with a Health Care Innovation Award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for launching the first geriatric emergency department in New York City. Our inpatient transfer service, Mount Sinai Access, is among the largest and most advanced in the city.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will collaborate with the esteemed Icahn School of Medicine. Our OB/GYN Division aligns with the mission of the Icahn School of Medicine by adopting a holistic approach to patient care, research, and education, recognizing these elements as interconnected facets of medical practice.
Position Overview:
- Ensure adherence to New York State Prenatal Care Regulations.
- Maintain compliance with Medicare Teaching Physicians rules, overseeing the supervisory role of attending physicians in teaching cases.
- Collaborate with Ambulatory Care Medical Directors to align Obstetrical Care across all locations within our OB/GYN Health System.
- Manage the Performance Improvement program, including metrics for Quality Improvement that reflect workflows and standards at our hospital.
- Oversee compliance with scope of practice guidelines and competency metrics for all obstetrical providers, including:
- Physicians
- Midwives
- Physician Assistants
- Nurse Practitioners
- Partner with residency and fellowship program directors to ensure educational objectives and metrics are achieved.
- Provide medical care in a high-functioning environment.
- Leverage the educational, research, and clinical resources of a nationally recognized Medical School.
- Utilize a fully integrated Electronic Health Record system.
- Access additional support staff.

Qualifications
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid New York Medical License.
- Board Certification in OB/GYN.

The compensation for this position ranges from $310,000 to $367,000 (excluding bonuses or incentive compensation and benefits).
Salary Disclosure:
Our organization provides a salary range to comply with New York City’s Salary Transparency law. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialties, historical productivity, collections, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, may fall outside the listed range. The stated salary range is for full-time positions and does not include bonuses or benefits.
