Basic Purpose:
This position is primarily responsible for administering the state and federal grant programs as well as the federal aid verification process. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid also supports the Director in the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office.

Principal Activities
- Manage the federal grant programs, including awarding, verifying eligibility, disbursement, and reconciliation.
- Manage the state scholarship and grant programs, including awarding, verifying eligibility, disbursement, and reconciliation.
- Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, money management and financial planning, and individualizes information to the particular needs and situation of the student.
- Assist in the enrollment process of incoming and returning traditional students.
- Manage the document review process, which includes mailing and emailing students and parents regarding missing or additional documentation needed to process FAFSA information.
- Complete federal verification process for selected students.
- Process all outside scholarships and maintain the scholarship resource center on the website.
- Occasionally present information regarding federal financial aid, scholarships, employment and grants for various campus groups, high school students, and parents at meetings, group discussions, workshops, and recruitment sessions.
- Keep abreast of all current federal, state and institutional policies regarding the various financial aid programs and assist with training of enrollment personnel.
- Assist with enrollment events.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations associated with the NCAA Division II and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience: Three years of experience in a higher education financial aid office, preferred
Skills: Ability to think clearly and communicate in a concise, uncomplicated manner, good math
aptitude.
