An experienced Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) is needed to lead pharmacy operations at a specialty pharmacy located onsite in Foxborough, MA. This contract-to-hire opportunity requires an immediate start and offers a dynamic work environment supporting complex specialty therapies and patient care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the review, verification, and dispensing of prescriptions ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC
- Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy related to specialty disease states
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Collaborate with Intake, Referral, Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to streamline patient onboarding and prescription fulfillment
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and support quality assurance and incident resolution activities
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required; Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
- Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school
- Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings (retail-only backgrounds will not meet requirements)
- Strong understanding of specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
- Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and familiarity with clinical coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software; familiarity with CareTend is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and multitasking skills
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with weekend on-call rotation
