Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to support field and office operations for commercial construction projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure that projects are properly organized, documented, and executed according to schedule, scope, and budget. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to grow in a collaborative construction environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily project coordination and documentation.

Prepare, track, and distribute RFIs and submittals while maintaining accurate logs.

Organize project files, as-builts, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Help maintain and update project schedules in collaboration with field leadership.

Review contract documents and subcontracts to ensure project alignment and compliance.

Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and updates for internal and external meetings.

Support the field team by handling purchase orders, timecards, and subcontractor daily reports.

Verify deliveries and inspect incoming materials for accuracy and quality.

Take weekly progress photos and maintain proper project documentation.

Manage project closeout activities including punch list tracking, warranty collection, and turnover documentation.

Assist with change order documentation and requests for additional work.

Coordinate with inspectors, city officials, and project stakeholders as needed.

Ensure company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards are consistently met.
Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent field experience considered.

2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role with a commercial general contractor.

Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and submittal processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software.

LEED accreditation or CSI certification (CDT or CCCA) a plus.

Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
Work Schedule & Compensation

Full-time, exempt position (salary commensurate with experience).

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday during jobsite hours.
