Technologist – Scientific Operations
Location: Sparks, MD
Pay Rate: $22.60/hour (includes shift differential)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM (Overnight B Shift)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technologist – Scientific Operations to support manufacturing and laboratory operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for preparing solutions, operating production equipment, conducting in-process testing, and supporting filtration, cleaning, and sterilization processes for clinical and commercial products.
The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial products according to established procedures
- Operate production and laboratory equipment safely and efficiently
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials to ensure accurate batch preparation
- Prepare solutions, powders, and liquids to meet production specifications
- Assist with in-process testing to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
- Validate processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization
- Handle the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids according to safety procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational or scientific process issues
- Support training and onboarding for new employees or updated procedures
- Provide support to leads and supervisors as needed
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Follow all GMP, housekeeping, and safety procedures
- Work overtime as required to support business needs
Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following is required:
- High school diploma with technical certification in laboratory operations and 3+ years of laboratory experience
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline with 2–3 years of laboratory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 1–2 years of laboratory experience
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and follow diagrams, procedures, and specifications
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
