Restaurant Manager Job Description

Overview: American Coney Island, located inside the D casino on Fremont Street, is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fast casual restaurant. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional customer service, while maintaining revenue, profitability, and quality goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, Hire, and Train Front of House Employees: Lead the recruitment and scheduling process, conduct interviews, and onboard new hires. Provide ongoing training and development to ensure staff delivers excellent service.
  • Monitor Inventory Levels: Maintain optimal inventory levels through regular assessments and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Evaluate Business Performance: Collaborate with the leadership team to analyze business performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies for growth.
  • Create and Communicate Work Shifts: Develop and communicate employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: Store and handle food products in accordance with health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant.
  • Guest Interaction: Foster positive guest experiences by interacting with customers, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, General Manager, or Hospitality Manager in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of motivating teams and achieving operational goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and other relevant software applications.
  • Preferred, but not mandatory - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field; culinary schooling or certification.
  • Kitchen experience and in-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Must have Manager ServSafe Certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a stressful and fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
