Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Onsite Construction Supervisor to oversee daily field operations for prestigious projects in NYC, including work for a major national institution. The ideal candidate will bring experience in museum, historic preservation, and federal construction, and will thrive in a collaborative, compliance-driven environment.

This role is critical to ensuring the quality, safety, and schedule performance of complex, high-profile construction efforts in sensitive, occupied facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily jobsite activities, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and efficiently.

  • Coordinate all field operations in compliance with project plans, specifications, and federal agency standards.

  • Maintain detailed field documentation including daily reports, work logs, safety inspections, and QA/QC records.

  • Serve as a liaison between site personnel, project managers, architects, engineers, and owners.

  • Enforce safety compliance and lead jobsite safety meetings in accordance with OSHA, project-specific HASPs, and company policy.

  • Review submittals, drawings, and scope requirements to proactively manage project execution.

  • Monitor and report on schedule progress, issues, and field coordination conflicts.

  • Support punch list completion, closeout procedures, and field verification of work against design documents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of onsite supervisory experience in federal, museum, or historic construction projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of federal agency standards, building codes, and preservation best practices.

  • Proficient in reading construction documents, coordinating trades, and enforcing project specifications.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to lead field teams in occupied and sensitive environments with minimal disruption.

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 30 (Required)

  • OSHA 510, USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) – Preferred

  • CPR/First Aid – Preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and identity verification.

  • Experience with Federal projects is a strong plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
