Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Onsite Construction Supervisor to oversee daily field operations for prestigious projects in NYC, including work for a major national institution. The ideal candidate will bring experience in museum, historic preservation, and federal construction, and will thrive in a collaborative, compliance-driven environment.

This role is critical to ensuring the quality, safety, and schedule performance of complex, high-profile construction efforts in sensitive, occupied facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily jobsite activities, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
Coordinate all field operations in compliance with project plans, specifications, and federal agency standards.
Maintain detailed field documentation including daily reports, work logs, safety inspections, and QA/QC records.
Serve as a liaison between site personnel, project managers, architects, engineers, and owners.
Enforce safety compliance and lead jobsite safety meetings in accordance with OSHA, project-specific HASPs, and company policy.
Review submittals, drawings, and scope requirements to proactively manage project execution.
Monitor and report on schedule progress, issues, and field coordination conflicts.
Support punch list completion, closeout procedures, and field verification of work against design documents.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of onsite supervisory experience in federal, museum, or historic construction projects.
Strong working knowledge of federal agency standards, building codes, and preservation best practices.
Proficient in reading construction documents, coordinating trades, and enforcing project specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to lead field teams in occupied and sensitive environments with minimal disruption.

Preferred Certifications

OSHA 30 (Required)
OSHA 510, USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) – Preferred
CPR/First Aid – Preferred

Additional Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and identity verification.
Experience with Federal projects is a strong plus.
Strong attention to detail, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
