Requirements:

  • Updated CV, ARRT registration for advanced CT, any state Medical Radiologic Technologist License, BLS certification and 3 Letters of Recommendations.
  • This is a Government contract position; contractors must have a clean background (including up-to-date federal or state taxes payment) and be willing to go through a background check and drug screening.


Urgency: plan to start immediately, pending facility credentialing process.


Compensation:

  • 1099 payment twice a month, (having or creating an LLC is highly recommended) malpractice insurance included (1M/3M),
  • Onsite housing included (fully furnished sleeping quarters with full kitchen and appliances, maybe shared units).
  • Pay per week: $3,000.00 to $3,200.00 per 40-hour-week ($75-80 per hour, based on experience).
  • The contractor must bring her/his own vehicle.


Duties/expectations: consists of the following duties, but it is not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day safe operation of the CT and/or Angio environment.
  • Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable or consumable solutions such as UGIs, BEs,
  • Small Bowel, Modified Barium Swallows, Venograms, Cystograms, Cholangiograms,
  • Fistula grams, Arthrography, etc.
  • Records all doses of radiation for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams
  • Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, preop, urgent and routine exams
  • Technologists work with staff and radiology schedule to assure timely accomplishment of assigned workload, making day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities and additional assignments.
  • Performs radiology procedures/exams utilizing sterile techniques.
  • Use independent judgment and possess the ability to vary exams or treatment procedures as needed to compensate for patients individual medical conditions and body habitus.
  • Maintains electronic records and files of exams performed on patients and ensuring all images and required paperwork is properly filled out and scanned in to the PACS system
  • Properly identify patients by using full name and/or hospital name band.
  • Performs all aspects of CT imaging to include Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis
  • Extremities, 3D Reconstructions of CT, Multi-Planar Reformats CT and Angiographic studies when requested and/or when part of a standard procedure.
  • Administration of Contrast Media After-Hours, Guidelines for Power Injection of
  • Contrast Media, and CT Section and policy for use of Contrast Media.
  • Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist that are used in CT, to include CT Angiography and other exams. Improper use or administration of contrast materials runs the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that a thorough understanding of the contrast material usage is possessed by those who prepare it. In addition, the technologist must be continuously alerted to the patients condition and other disorders. Technologists must be certified to insert IV needles for administration of contrast material when necessary.
  • Technologist must be familiar with policies and procedures for practicing radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self. This is achieved by optimizing technical factors and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
