Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other care team members, the RN provides tailored, comprehensive, and compassionate care utilizing established nursing frameworks like “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

  • Regularly evaluates patient pain to ensure effective pain management, including follow-up assessments after interventions.
  • Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, documenting care in the patient’s medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Delivers exceptional care by responding swiftly to patient requests, proactively anticipating and addressing their needs.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, simplifying complex medical terms for better understanding.
  • Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-medical follow-up actions, such as healthy eating, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications, preparing them for future self-management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be secured within 30 days of starting employment.
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within one year of starting employment.
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
    • Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Associate Degree is required.
