Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary:

Tri-City Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with expertise in all phases of electrical work, including medium voltage, in data center construction and expansion. This role entails reviewing project specifications, blueprints, contracts, and the specific requirements set by the general contractor or developer. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for providing detailed estimates for hyperscale, mission-critical electrical construction projects.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending Preconstruction and Kickoff meetings
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings to understand the scope of work and necessary project details.
  • Review proposed specifications and drawings to define the scope of work and the required elements for the estimate.
  • Gather quotes, print drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Prepare estimates by calculating the complete take-off of the scope of work.
  • Utilize conceptual estimating, budget cost development/analysis, and creating value-engineering solutions to present.
  • Professionally interact with customers, other trades, general contractors, and internal staff
  • Provide Construction Services with up-to-date CAD drawings
  • Assist with the assembly of shop drawings as per project requirements
  • Provide an update to the project manager regarding the project. Coordinate with other divisions as necessary.
  • Take a direct role in overseeing the project close-out.
  • Adhere to the awarded contracts as assigned, which may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, etc.
  • Maintain good relationships with vendor partner relationships as well as the customer

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Construction or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or completion of a five-year electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in data centers and at least ten years of experience estimating various electrical projects.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment analysis and have proven experience in estimating projects in various geographic locations.
  • Experience with phase code development and time management is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and Microsoft Project is required.



Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, tact and consideration, focus on accuracy, solid communication skills, positive initiative and judgment, the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines, self-motivation, business acumen and be organized. Candidates should have the ability to collaborate with team members, negotiate competitive and profitable bids and work with the procurement department on the finalization of project costs is included.
