CLASSIFICATION TITLE: PRO SHOP LEAD
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to support the daily operation of the City Park Pro Shop and serve as the primary on-site contact for staff and patrons during assigned shifts. The employee in this classification assists with scheduling and coordinating work assignments for pro shop staff, provides guidance to part-time and seasonal employees, and serves as the weekend point of contact for the City Park and golf course to help resolve routine issues and minimize escalation to the Assistant Superintendent on scheduled days off.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provides on-site leadership for pro shop operations during assigned shifts; serves as the primary contact for staff questions or concerns.
- Coordinates and guides part-time and seasonal employees, assisting with scheduling and shift coverage as needed.
- Oversees opening and closing of the pro shop; answers telephone and assists callers.
- Ensures the pro shop, clubhouse, and surrounding areas are maintained in an organized and welcoming manner.
- Sells snack items; collects fees for golf carts; oversees intake of money during shifts; operates cash register; provides shift financial reports to City Hall or designated staff.
- Assists with monitoring and restocking supplies and snack items, notifying the Assistant Superintendent of needed orders.
- Serves as the weekend point of contact for minor operational concerns at the City Park and golf course, communicating any larger issues to appropriate supervisory staff.
- Operates equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; previous experience in golf course, retail, or customer service operations preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is scheduled to work on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Weekend shifts are a priority to provide on-site leadership and serve as the main point of contact for staff and patrons during times when supervisory staff are unavailable. Flexibility may be required for special events, tournaments, or peak operational needs.
