Job Description

Our organization is looking for a board-certified or board-eligible Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join the Queens Cancer Center, focusing on benign hematology and sickle cell services. The Queens Cancer Center of Excellence stands as the sole established cancer center within the NYC Health+Hospitals System. This role presents a remarkable chance to thrive in a mission-driven, high-acuity setting, supported by a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will become part of a seasoned and collegial group of medical oncologists and hematologists, alongside advanced practice providers, nurses, nutritionists, and social workers. Our hematology service boasts a strong team, including an advanced practice provider, social worker, community health liaison, and program manager, all dedicated to delivering comprehensive, integrated care to a diverse patient community.

Faculty members hold academic positions at the Icahn School of Medicine, offering opportunities for teaching and research involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care in medical oncology and hematology, encompassing evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered cancer care.

  • Actively participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards and cancer committee activities.

  • Contribute to quality improvement and program development initiatives within the Cancer Center.

  • Engage in teaching residents and medical students through training programs affiliated with Mount Sinai.

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to clinical excellence, professional growth, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

  • Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

  • Eligible for or currently holding an active New York State Medical License.

  • Experience in an academic or community-based oncology program is preferred.

  • Commitment to serving a diverse patient population with compassion and equity.

This position offers a favorable work-life balance, conveniently located near Manhattan in a culturally rich and family-oriented community.
