Our Chicago, IL Facility is Looking for a Entry Level Lab Chemist, they will beresponsible for sample preparation, the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. This is a traditional, white lab coat position that offers no travel. We are looking for an individual with Lab experience with a good work ethic.

This is day shift: 8 AM - 4 PM with occasional overtime.

Starting pay: $25.00 hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities (Basic Job Duties)
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety and Compliance protocols.
- Performs analysis in samples from all phases (Raw material, Finished Product, In-Process) following prescribed procedures, with the ability to solve minor problems.
- Analytical chemistry work including but not limited to:
- GC-FID
- IC
- ICP
- UV/Vis
- Color/wet chemistry
- pH
- titrations
- Karl Fisher
- Loss on drying/residue
- General lab duties as pertaining to safety and cleanliness
- Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines
- Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation
- Completes all paperwork associated with the analyses in a neat and timely fashion
- Responsible for supply management in their area of responsibility
- Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures and laboratory activities
- Other duties and project work that may be on-going or have a specified time frame as assigned by Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or physical science is preferred.
- Ability to set up and conduct chemical experiments/tests such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titrations.
- Superior organizational skills coupled with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
