Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract physical therapist position is available in the Lower Bucks County area of Pennsylvania, supporting Extended School Year (ESY) services. This role focuses on providing physical therapy to students within a school setting during the summer session, helping to enhance their developmental progress and functional abilities.

Responsibilities include delivering center-based and itinerant physical therapy services aligned with student IEPs, collaborating with educators and related service providers, and maintaining accurate documentation. Candidate placement will be prioritized within a 35-minute commute of their residence, contingent on service needs and student assignments.

Key qualifications and requirements:

  • Active Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) licensure for Physical Therapy
  • Ability to commit fully to the ESY schedule, June 29 to July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday
  • Reliable transportation with residence within 35 minutes of Lower Bucks County locations
  • Experience working with school-aged children, including those with moderate to severe needs and behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of credentialing timelines and compliance with agency policies
  • Ability to work varied hours (12-24 per week) depending on assignment, typically 8:45 am to 2:45 pm
  • Candidates must be able to provide a supervisor reference and submit a resume outlining relevant experience

Benefits of this contract include flexible hours suitable for summer availability and a varied caseload within multiple school environments. This is an excellent opportunity for licensed physical therapists seeking meaningful work in school-based settings during the summer months.

Qualified candidates interested in this ESY Physical Therapy role are encouraged to apply with a complete profile including name, city of residence, resume with highlights, proof of licensure, and supervisory reference. Early applications are recommended due to the timing and placement considerations.
