Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization and providing strategic financial leadership to support business objectives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial sustainability while partnering with executive leadership and the Board on strategic decision-making.



Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Executive Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic insights to leadership and the Board.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis.

Accounting, Controls & Compliance

  • Oversee accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and financial close.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with auditors and regulators.

Cash Flow, Capital & Risk Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, and financing activities.
  • Oversee investment strategies, debt structures, and insurance coverage.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Set performance expectations and support professional development.



Required Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA or Master's in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior financial leadership role
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Public company and SEC reporting experience required where applicable
  • Strong executive communication and strategic leadership skills
